Time: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
The Greater Des Moines partnership is excited to team up with the Iowa Women’s Business Center to bring you First Fridays!  The goal of First Fridays is for the aspiring entrepreneurs and the people of Des Moines to hear from business owners and entrepreneurs who have helped shape the communities in which we live. The speakers are makers, store owners, movers and shakers, creators of regional or national brands, and all have stories that are uniquely their own.

November 3rd will feature Katie Byers is a former attorney turned entrepreneur who is an avid music lover and frequent attendee at many local shows and festivals. Two and a half years ago after being inspired by her experience at Folk Alliance International, Katie began hosting a monthly house concert series in her home to benefit local and touring musicians.  She quickly discovered that she had found her passion in life and decided to create a way to get more people across the country hosting house concerts.  Katie is the Founder & CEO of HomeDitty™, a web based software built specifically for house concert hosts that is currently in Beta testing.  Katie was recently honored by the Des Moines Music Coalition as the recipient of the 2017 David Hurd Community Supporter of the Year for her dedication to coordinating local house concerts and for helping create house venues across the country.  Katie resides in Des Moines with her husband, Jay and two daughters, Sophie and Charlotte.
